Payroll Support Specialist
About the Role
We're looking for a Payroll Support Specialist to join the PayCub team on a part-time basis. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of Canadian payroll knowledge and software support. You'll be the person our customers turn to when they have questions about their payroll, their deductions, or how to get the most out of PayCub.
The role also includes direct involvement in our Managed Payroll service, where we handle the full payroll process on behalf of clients: building pay stubs, verifying deductions, and coordinating with clients around each pay run. You'll be a core part of making that service run smoothly.
What You'll Do
- - Respond to customer support inquiries via email and live chat, covering payroll questions, CRA deduction questions, and PayCub feature questions
- - Process managed payroll runs on behalf of clients: review submitted hours, build and verify pay stubs, coordinate Funds Summaries, and ensure stubs are delivered on time
- - Help new users get set up: walk them through company setup, employee configuration, vacation pay options, and TD1 settings
- - Identify and document common support patterns to help improve PayCub's guides and FAQ resources
- - Flag bugs or unusual behaviour to the development team with clear reproduction steps
- - Assist with year-end T4 questions and guide clients through the filing process
What We're Looking For
- - Formal payroll training or direct payroll administration experience is required. You must be confident working with CPP, EI, income tax deductions, T4s, CRA remittance schedules, and statutory holiday pay, and comfortable referencing CRA tools like PDOC when needed
- - Experience using or supporting payroll or accounting software
- - Clear, patient written communication. Most support happens over email, and being able to explain something clearly without jargon matters
- - Organized and self-directed. This is a remote, part-time role with flexible hours. You'll manage your own time and workload
- - Comfortable with technology. You don't need to be a developer, but you should be comfortable navigating web-based software and learning new tools
- - Based in Canada. London, Ontario area is a plus but not required
Nice to Have
- - Experience supporting SaaS or web-based software
Hours and Compensation
This is a part-time contractor role at approximately 10 to 15 hours per week, with some flexibility around managed payroll run dates. Compensation is competitive and based on experience. We'll discuss specifics once we've had a chance to connect.
How to Apply
Send an email to info@paycub.ca with a brief note about your background and why this role is a good fit. No formal cover letter required. Just tell us about yourself in your own words.
